An overview of my Quake II map

Today during the live level design session, I’ve managed to add a large chunk to the map and was able to interconnect two large areas. In the screenshot below, you see an overview of the map as it is now. The greyboxing part is nearing its final stages. Once that’s done, I can create my first compiled and start testing the map in-game. If the layout proves to be solid, it’s time to add details and give each brush a proper texture.

The final stage will be adding lights and other entities but we still have a way to go before we reach the end of the tunnel. Nonetheless, I’m making good progress and I’m expecting a smooth run to the finish. If you care to see what I did today, you can watch the stream again here.
