Neon Highlights #1

Greetings all! There have been some changes lately in terms of my playthroughs on Twitch. Normally I would edit the videos of all the maps and games I play and the levels I create during my live streams and put them on my YouTube channel. This takes a serious chunck out of the time I could better spend working on my projects.

Therefore I decided to make these compilations as shown in the video below and link to the full highlights on Twitch. This way I can show you what I’ve been up to and if you’re interested in watching the whole episode, you can easily follow the link provided for each individual subject. This allows me to save quite some time while still providing you with all the content I put out there. It just takes significantly less time to put it all together, that’s all.

So here it is, the first Neon Highlights:

Doom II: Annie

I haven been making some more progress on Doom II: Annie – Episode 2. At the time of this writing, the first map is about 90% completed in terms of layout. After that it’s time for entity placement, detailing, lighting, props and scripts. If the video below, you can see some of the techniques I used to create angled and sloped 3D floors. Quite the effort but the result is awesome!

Black Mesa: Azure Sheep

For those of you who know the Half-life series, Black Mesa will probably sound familiar as well. The Azure Sheep mod (part 1) has been released recently. It is a recreation of the classic mod for Half-life called Blue Shift designed to play with Black Mesa. I’ve gone through the well-crafted first part of Azure Sheep and was absolutely stunned when we finally arrived on Xen. Mindblowing!

Prince of Persia

Retro gaming is one of the things I absolutely love. It was with great nostalgia that I decided to go through the world of Prince of Persia again after all these years. I played the Game Boy version with the help of an emulator. It sure brought up some good memories of the game. I managed to beat the game barely withing the time limit but it was a good run nonetheless.
